Unleashing Bee Chaos with Sam Comfort

Unleashing Bee Chaos with Sam Comfort

Hey there, buzzing bee enthusiasts! ๐ŸŒผโœจ Just got back from a whirlwind trip to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and couldn’t help but reminisce about the good ol’ days in Boynton Beach.

Let me tell you about this cool beekeeper I met there, Sam Comfort. Picture this: a young bee enthusiast with a real knack for natural beekeeping. He’s like a breath of fresh air, especially after a rather quirky encounter with the local bee club.

Sam’s all about following his beekeeping passion, no strings attached. I was lucky enough to grab lunch with him during my time in Florida, and let me tell you, what a fantastic guy.

Barry Birkey, the Beesource maestro, and I hung out with Sam while he was busy rearing queens for a big-shot commercial east coast migratory beekeeper. Sam, having a commercial beekeeping background, knows the ins and outs of American beekeeping. Yet, he decided to switch gears and embrace a more natural approach. And he hasn’t looked back since.

WHY THE HONEY BEE IS DECLINING

To keep it casual and not dive too deep into the world of anthropomorphizing, here’s the short answer (for those casual chit-chats): Bees have had it with the way we treat the dirt, and they’re not taking it anymore! They’re downright mad!

That’s his short and sweet take on it. If you’re up for a more extended chat and some fantastic natural beekeeping videos, check out his site. It’s the go-to spot to catch up on the buzz in the natural beekeeping scene up in the northeast.
